I'm a blessed woman

Ok so I know i'm not gonna make it through this post without crying because 1, i'm a powder puff cry baby punk and 2, i'm just so unbelievably happy right now!! But I purposely did not wear any make up today cuz I already knew what the deal was.

Anywho, if u don't follow me on Twitter [how dare u!!!? It's twitter.com/ChanelSaysSo] you may not know that today is my last day as a full time employee at my current job. It's a good job. Good $. Decent atmosphere although this past month has made me want to throw a few people off the Golden Gate bridge. [no psycho] I was very blessed to have gotten the position 3 yrs ago with very little experience in the field. And now I feel continuous blessings for making my exit and moving on to bigger & better things. It will be a HUGE adjustment phase for me over the next few months as I have grown accustomed to having a little change in my pockets. But when I have a school like Mills College basically paying my way through...im not gonna pass that up to stay at a 9 to 5 that will never ever pay me the kind of $$$ i know i can make with degrees under my belt.

God has opened all sorts of doors, windows, avenues and freeways for me and i've chosen to run full speed ahead, with his guidance, of course.

I feel so blessed to have this opportunity & even though i'm still a little nervous about things, i'm ready!!!

Late monday post

Im wrapping my day up, clock-watchin as I type. Just wanted to poke my head in and say a few words. My weekend was great and way too short, as usual. Woke up at the butt crack of dawn on Friday so I could go to my registration/spring preview at Mills College. I registered for my fall classes, 6 in total. Yes i'll be tired as hell but I gotta do wut I gotta do. Im still trying to decide whether or not to declare a minor, and what it should be. Seeing as how I started my college yrs as a psych major and then changed mid way thru to an English major, I was thinking of maybe minoring in psych. I'm also toying with the possibility of a women's study minor or a Spanish minor. I dont know. Hell i dnt even know if i'll have enough time to complete a minor!! We'll see. I just know im excited to start!

Stressin for nothin...as usual

I just checked my grades for this semester and was pleasantly surprised to see I made an A in that english class I complained about last week. Remember the teacher I turned the wrong essay in to and I lost 50 pts and I just knew my grade was gonna drop? Well Jesus must have known i wouldnt be any good to myself if I actually did get a B so he went on ahead and made that A happen and I'm sooooooooooooo thankful ;-) So far I have 3 A's. I'm waiting on one more grade and i'm already prepared for sumthin closer to a C cuz it's that damn astronomy class. I swear I feel like the biggest idiot for being able to pull A's in poli sci, sociology, 5 different english classes, bioscience and every other class.... but I can't get one in astronomy. lmao. Sumthin ain't right. That class is evil. As long as I pass it. Anything less than a C and I will be payin that teacher a personal visit and it wont be to discuss the moon phases.

My time at this school is quickly winding down and I couldn't be happier. Los Medanos College has served me well and i've served it even better but it's time to move on. I can't wait to start and finish at Mills and finally FINALLY be a college graduate. I've been nothing but blessed these last few yrs and I feel like its my season and I owe it to myself and to God to take full advantage of it.

Scholarship update :-)

Ok so two friday flash posts ago, I told yall about my Kennedy-King scholarship interview. Well, I was just informed over the weekend that I got it!!! :-) Okay so that's an additional $4,000 per yr towards my tuition, making the grand total of scholarship money so far $14,000 per yr. Thats pretty good, but i've got approx. $17,000 more to go! Wish me luck on my hunt for $ cuz i know its out there.
